Footprint on Africa

Some of the main visual elements are a large Black image of Africa with a large White footprint on top of it. The issue the cartoonist is supposedly putting up, is that Europe is trampling over Africa leaving footprints. And he is not happy about this. The reason you can tell he isn't happy, is because if you look at the footprint there's dry land in that are. So, what the cartoonist is trying to indicate is that where ever the Europeans go, there ruining those area's.Only, to make this point stronger, and more persuasive the cartoonist might have wanted to draw some damage such as fires and war in the footprint, showing real catastrophic events. Well heres the image what do you think it's trying to say?
